Organisation Tips
Simple organisation tips for a calmer home
A tidy home feels calmer and is easier to live in. These small changes work in almost any house or flat.
Start with a declutter
Before buying any storage, empty one cupboard or drawer at a time. Keep what you use, donate what you don't, and only then measure up for organisers.
Kitchen
- Decant dry foods such as pasta, rice and cereal into clear, airtight containers so you can see what you have.
- Use shelf risers and turntables to make use of the full height and depth of cupboards.
- Keep only the things you use every day on the worktop.
- Store items near where you use them: pans by the hob, mugs by the kettle.
Bathroom
- Use over-the-door or wall storage in small bathrooms.
- Group items in small baskets: daily, weekly and spare.
- Clear the edge of the bath and sink to make cleaning quicker.
Wardrobe and drawers
- Use matching hangers to save space and make the wardrobe look tidier.
- Fold clothes upright in drawers with dividers so you can see everything at a glance.
- Store out-of-season clothes in boxes or under-bed storage.

Keep it up
Spend ten minutes each evening putting things back where they belong. A one in, one out rule stops clutter from building up again.
